George Sookochoff, CEO/President & Chairman
George Sookochoff has over 35 years of experience in the junior mining sector serving as CEO, President and Director of several junior mining companies. He has also provided consulting services in the area of project development, exploration data analysis, and digital marketing for numerous junior companies. He holds a Commerce Degree (Marketing-Computer Sciences) from the University of British Columbia.
He has served as past President and CEO of International PBX Ventures Ltd., a TSX venture company developing several copper porphyry and gold skarn projects in Chile, in particular the 500mt Copaquire copper-moly porphyry in the Atacama desert of northern Chile. The Copaquire was later acquired by Teck.
As executive Vice President of Golden Dawn Minerals he compiled into a single comprehensive digital database over one hundred years of exploration data from the Greenwood mining camp, which included hundreds of maps and reports dating from late 1800’s to today. The Greenwood mining district is one of the most concentrated areas of mineralization in all of British Columbia and this new extensive digital database provides invaluable information for delineating previously unidentified high quality exploration targets in the area.
George recently served as President of GGX Gold Corp. assisting in advancing and developing the significant high grade COD vein system along with numerous other vein systems on the GGX Gold Drop property in the Greenwood mining camp.
George was born and raised in Grand Forks, B.C. and is quite familiar with the prolific Grand Forks-Greenwood mining district and its rich mining history as well as its remaining yet to be discovered potential.
Gary Musil, Secretary/CFO/Director
Gary Musil has more than 30 years of management and financial consulting experience and has served as an officer and director on numerous public companies since 1988. This experience has resulted in his overseeing the financial aspects and expenditures on exploration projects in Peru, Chile, Eastern Europe (Slovak Republic), and British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick (Canada). Prior to this, he was employed for 15 years with Dickenson Mines Ltd. and Kam-Kotia Mines Ltd. as a Controller for the producing silver/lead/zinc mine in the interior of British Columbia Canada.
James H. Place, P. Geo, Director
Mr. Place has worked for government and private industry as a consultant for more than 30 years this includes engineering groups, environmental assessment specialists, and private mineral developers. He is experienced in providing support to government and private organizations includes property assessment, project planning, management, supervision, and administration for all types of engineering and development projects.
Laurence Sookochoff, P.Eng, Director
Laurence Sookochoff has had over 50 years of experience in the mining and mineral exploration industry since his graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia in 1966.
He has authored well over 1,400 reports and was a founding director of many companies including Corona Resources Ltd. which was instrumental in the discovery of the Hemlo gold deposit in 1982. The Hemlo discovery was the most significant gold discovery in North America and was in production as the David Bell Mine from 1982 to 2013 having produced 4,233,429 ounces of gold.
Laurence Sookochoff brings a wealth of experience to Belmont Resources Ltd. in Belmont’s acquisition of mineral properties in the historic Phoenix Mining Camp located between Grand Forks and Greenwood in the southern interior of British Columbia. He worked at the Phoenix Mine when Granby operated the Phoenix Mine from 1959 to 1976. He was the supervisor of the diamond drilling and drift development at the adjacent Golden Crown Mine, in addition to the supervision of an exploration program at the recent Belmont acquisition of the Pathfinder Property.
Geoffrey D.G. Peretz , Director
Mr. Peretz is a senior Investment Industry professional with over thirty-five years of market related experience. Through his Private Equity/Investment Banking firm, Camelot Capital Corporation, he has founded, co-founded or been an angel investor in some of Canada’s most successful start-ups. A number of these have gone to market capitalizations of over $1b CDN. He brings to the company extensive experience in Corporate Finance, Corporate Structure, Corporate Governance & Financial Controls.
Mr. Peretz founded Canaco Resources in 2003 and the company was named the top performing stock on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2010. Today the company has been divided along geographic lines into East Africa Metals (TSX-V: EAM) which holds assets in Tanzania and Ethiopia, and Orca Gold (TSX-V: ORC) holding the assets in the Sudan. The Ethopian properties are currently in production.
